ACG Pharmapack, a member of ACG Worldwide with over 15 years of experience in manufacturing most comprehensive range of standard mono- and barrier-packaging films for pharmaceutical, medical device and personal care industries, has recently signed an exclusive agreement with US-based Eastman Chemicals.
Under this agreement ACG Pharmapack will produce PETg film in India in technical collaboration with Eastman Chemicals of Kingsport, Tennessee, USA. This is first time Eastman Chemicals signed agreement with an Indian arm ACG Pharmapack.
Eastman PET resins contain unique technologies that enable a wider variety of application like; a proprietary property that enables thick walled parts to be moulded haze free, clear UV protection chemically bound to the PET polymer chain for light sensitive applications, low AA PET for taste sensitive applications, sustainable PET formulas offering reduced carbon foot print, non-solid stated PET with improved energy consumption, and all of these innovations are enabled while maintaining recyclability and resin identification code. It can be used in many industries on packaging applications; pharmaceutical, food, health and nutrition, household products, medical grade, wine and liquor, hot-filled food and beverage, refillable carbonated soft drink containers, and large 5-gallon (bulk) refillable water containers. For pharmaceutical and medical applications it has DMF grade.

A seminar on “Pharmaceutical Sourcing – Working with Indian Partners” was organised by OPPI at Scitech Center Mumbai on the 6th August 2010.
India is rapidly becoming a global hub for clinical research, with some of the world leaders setting up their base, either directly or through collaboration. This seminar threw light upon the India's strong role in the emerging pharmaceutical industry.

On 8th July 2010 ACG Value links set up its first ever workshop seminar since in incorporation as a company on 1st June 2010. On 8th June 2010, HADSA – NSF jointly organised a seminar at Scitech Center Mumbai on the new GMP Regulations for dietary suppliments.
Mr. Edward Wyszumila from NSF International started the seminar by giving a brief overview about the GMP Regulation and its importance. This included GMPs for Dietary supplements manufacturing and common areas of non-compliance.
This was followed by Mr. Chril Aiyer who provided details about NSF GMP certification program and how it can assist in GMP compliance. The in-depth review of what is necessary for GMP compliance in 21 CFR 111 and details of the regulations were discussed by Mr. Warren Majerus.
On 10th February 2010, OPPI organised a seminar on evolution trends in supply chain management. Eminent speakers from various companies like Indian Railways, DHL Lemuir Logistics, KPMG, HUL expressed their views on the topic. Speakers like Mr. Madhukar Nayak from Novartis and Mr. Siddhartha Pahwa from Piramal Healthcare also provided valuable insights on supply chain management from pharmacutical industry point of view.
